Float Your Fanny Down the Ganny -- April 2nd, 2011

"Float Your Fanny Down the Ganny" is a boat race held each Spring on the Ganaraska River in Port Hope, though the talk is that this will be the last year. The first part of the race is for canoes & kayaks. The second part is for "Crazy Craft" -- the big hit with the crowd of course.

The Ganny is a shallow river, no more than waist deep. The rapids are minor but enough to tip some of the Crazy Craft. The rapids further down stream get a bit more challenging than these ones though not too bad.

Some of the crews had water guns to spray the people on shore, and some of those on shore had the guns too to shoot back.

Bracing for the rapids...

The rapids were too much for this one.

These two have a dolphin in tow...

Ride-em cowboy!

Make the rapids and you're home-free.
